Beaumont Church of Christ
We are Christians who love our neighbors and are concerned about our community. We are followers of Jesus, whose amazing life and accomplishments were prophesied and fulfilled. We wear His name (Acts 11:26; Romans 16:16).The church of Christ is not a building; the church is all of the members of the body of Christ. (Romans 12:4-5 and 1 Corinthians 3:9)
Christ’s church originally began on a Jewish holiday, the Day of Pentecost, following Christ’s resurrection when about 3,000 were baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins (Acts 2:38-47). God added men and women daily to the church who had received Christ in this way and He does the same today.
Jesus intended us to be unified under Him since He is “...head over all things to the church, which is His body...”, as the New Testament describes in Ephesians 1:18-23. By the power of the Holy Spirit members of the New Testament church of today seek to fulfill Christ’s plan by:
Worshiping in spirit and truth. (John 4:23-24)
Helping each other. (Galatians 5:13,14)
Loving each other from the heart. (Romans 13:8)
Developing vibrant friendships. (Philippians 2:1-2)
Forgiving sincerely and completely. (Colossians 3:12-13)
Praying with unwavering faith. (Ephesians 6:13-18)
Living in joy because of His gift. (1 Peter 1:8-9)
If you’ve noticed a lot of scripture from the Bible on this page, you are seeing what we are about. As disciples of Christ we are expected to pay attention to His word and follow it. We welcome you, your family and your friends to come and share the joy and peace that comes from knowing Jesus as Lord.
What We Believe.....
We believe that there is one God (Hear,O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: Deuteronomy 6:4) and that He has revealed Himself in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that He created each one of us. (...male and female He created them Genesis 1:27).
We believe that God has revealed Himself in a revelation written down by over 40 authors over a span of over 1,500 years. This revelation has a consistent thread running through it: God’s plan for redeeming man.
God has revealed His priorities:
“He has told you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
But to do justice, to love kindness,
And to walk humbly with your God? “
Micah 6:8
“’You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Matthew 22:37-38
God has revealed His invitation:
“9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.”
John 1:9-12
“...and let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.”
Revelation 22:17
And God has revealed His purpose for you and me:
“Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Colossians 3:17

The courage to stand for what I believe is right and not follow the crowd, based on what is written in the word of God, even when it is unpopular, inconvenient, or when I have to stand alone with the Holy Spirit!
